If you have problems booting  the operating system (a black screen is shown in VNC during boot, or the boot process keeps restarting without reaching the password prompt), there may be data integrity problems on your hard disk. You can try to fix them with a disk check, but since you cannot work from within the operating system, you will need the Alkid Live DVD (REANIMATOR) boot disk. You can find detailed instructions on how to boot it here: https://client.vpsnow.com.ua/knowledgebase.php?action=displayarticle&id=81 .

After booting, you should see the following screen:

On the desktop that appears, double-click the My Computer shortcut. Then, in the window, select the system disk on which the operating system is installed (usually drive C, but it may differ depending on the installed operating system), right-click it and select Properties from the context menu that appears.

Next, in the properties window, go to the Tools tab and click the Check Now button.

In the check window, select the Automatically fix file system errors check box, and then click Start

Wait for the check to finish and restart the computer normally via the Start menu. During the next startup, do not press anything - the server's operating system should boot, not the boot disk.

After the check is complete, do not forget to unmount the ISO image from the virtual CD/DVD drive in the VDS control panel.
