Custom VDS templates
What is a "VDS template"?
It is a pre-built disk image that already contains an installed operating system. Templates can contain just the OS, or the OS with additional software already installed, etc.
Why are "VDS templates" needed?
Templates save time and make creating a new VDS much easier: there is no need to install the OS manually every time, the server is ready to use within minutes of ordering, and you can reinstall your VDS in a few clicks to "start from scratch" or switch to a different OS.
What are "custom VDS templates" and how do they differ from regular "VDS templates"?
Unlike the "base" standard templates available to all our clients, "custom" templates are created at a client's request from their already configured, ready-to-use servers (with settings applied, programs installed, etc.) and are available only to that client.
Why are custom templates needed?
A "custom" template is a saved image of your VDS, already configured exactly the way you need it. With it, you can create ("clone") new VDS without having to configure each one manually (as you would with a standard template), and you can also reinstall any VDS, "restoring" it to the state it was in when the template was created.

How much does a "custom template" cost?
Creating each custom template costs a flat 5 EUR. Maintaining one custom template of up to 10GB costs 5 EUR/month. If the template is larger than 10GB, an additional 0.5 EUR/month is charged for each GB over 10. It makes no difference how many of your VDS use the template. Attaching a created template to your VDS (so that you can use it for reinstallation) is free, via a support ticket.
What do I need to create my own template?
First set up your server so that it is in the state you need, then open a corresponding support ticket. Don't forget to top up your account balance beforehand.
How long does it take to create a template?
Depending on the amount of data, the process can take anywhere from 15 minutes to several hours. Once it is complete, the resulting template will be placed in storage and attached to your VDS.
How do I use my own template?
The created template will be added to the list of templates available for your VDS and will appear in the reinstallation form. To create a VDS from it, simply select that template from the list during reinstallation in the VDS control panel.
I have already created a template, but now I need to make some changes to it (update it). How do I do that?
Submit a request to delete the old template and order a new one.
What happens to VDS created from a custom template if the template is deleted / updated / replaced?
A VDS created from a template does not depend on it in any way, so you can delete / update / replace your custom templates at any time. VDS previously created from the template will not be affected. If you want all your VDS to use the new (updated) template, you need to reinstall them from the new template.
How many custom templates can I create?
There is no limit on the number of custom templates.
What happens if I am late paying for custom template maintenance?
Access to the template (the ability to use it) will be disabled, and a month later the template will be physically deleted. You will still owe one month's storage fee for the template, which you will have to pay off. So if you no longer need a template, submit a request to cancel it in good time.
I already have a configured server, and I want to order another VDS and copy my existing VDS to it...
If you just need to copy one VDS to another, you don't have to use custom templates. You can use special network cloning software yourself or, if you don't know how to do it, simply order an image copy from our administrators. This costs a one-time fee of 5 EUR. But if you need to create 10 copies of a VDS, it is easier to order a template (5 EUR + 5 EUR for a month of maintenance) and create the required number of new servers from it - that way it is simpler, faster and many times cheaper.
