How to start Task Manager on a Windows VDS
To start Task Manager on a Windows VDS/VPS, connect to it via Remote Desktop and use one of the methods below:
Method 1: right-click the taskbar -> "Start Task Manager":
Method 2: Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc
Method 3: Press Ctrl+Alt+End (or Start -> "Windows Security") to open "Windows Security" and select "Start Task Manager" from the list:
Method 4: Click Start -> "Run..." (or press "Win" + R on the keyboard) to open the "Run" dialog box:
Type taskmgr in the "Open" text box and click the "OK" button:
Method 5: Locate and manually run the following file: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\TASKMGR.EXE
If you cannot start Task Manager with any of the methods described, your server may be severely overloaded (not enough resources to start a new process) or hacked / infected with malware that blocks Task Manager from starting.
