By default, VDS servers use the Intel PRO/1000 MT network adapter. Some operating systems (for example, Windows XP) may not include drivers for this model, so the adapter will not be detected and the network will not work.

In this case, to install the drivers on Windows, you can mount the ISO intel-pro-nic-drivers.iso and install the drivers from it by running "Search automatically for drivers" for the device.

For other operating systems, you need to download the drivers from the manufacturer's website yourself. To do this, boot the VDS from a Live CD (for example, Alkid Live DVD (REANIMATOR) or Hiren's BootCD), set up networking there (the "Install network components" icon on the desktop or in the "Start" menu), save the required driver to drive C:\, then reboot the VDS into the normal OS and install the saved driver via the VNC console.
