Some may find this article funny or even a joke, but we really do get asked this question a lot. So what does this mysterious "run the command" or "run it in the console" actually mean?
0. Make sure where the command needs to be run: on your own computer or on the server. If on the server, connect to the server via Remote Desktop!
1. Click the "Start" menu button. It is usually located in the lower left corner of the desktop:

2. In the menu that appears, select "Run...".

In Windows Server 2003, the Start menu looks like this:

3. In the window that opens, type the command cmd and click "OK":

5. The command prompt window (console) will open:

6. Type the command you need to run and press Enter. If there are several commands, enter each of them separately, one after another (one line - one command), pressing Enter after each command.
