To "attach" a domain to your server, the domain must point to ("resolve to") your server's IP address. Without going into the technical details of how DNS works, here are the possible options:
1. You can use your domain registrar's NS servers, if the registrar offers this service (as a rule, any self-respecting registrar does). In this case, contact your domain registrar's support with the question: "How do I make my domain xxxxxx.ru point to the IP address of my server yy.yy.yy.yy?" — all settings are made on the registrar's side only.
2. You can use free DNS services provided by public providers. Among Russian ones we can recommend 2ns.info; among English-language ones, everydns.net (the simplest and most sensible), xname.org (lots of different settings), zoneedit.com (up to 5 domains per account) and others. This option is free, convenient and fairly reliable. But you need to understand what to do and how.
3. You can set up (install and configure) your own DNS service on your VDS. As secondary NS you can use the free secondary.net.ua or ns2.trifle.net. Of course, this option requires a thorough understanding of how DNS works. Its advantage is the ability to make any non-standard DNS zone settings that are sometimes unavailable in options 1 and 2. Its drawback is the complexity of setup and the need to add each new domain to the secondary NS separately, by hand.
4. You can host your domain on our company's NS servers. To do this, open a ticket with technical support specifying the domain you want to use. We will create a DNS zone for it and tell you the NS servers you need to set at your registrar for this domain. Hosting one domain on our company's NS servers costs 1 EUR per month. We reserve the right to refuse to host on our NS any domains we do not like (doorways, pornography and other bad or questionable things)!
And most importantly: as you understand, besides "pointing" the domain itself, your server must already have a properly installed and configured web server (IIS or Apache) to serve this domain, as well as all other software your website needs (database server, php or ASP .NET, SMTP mail server, etc.). Without all of this, "pointing" the domain will achieve nothing.
